Christmas Day

What a great day we had for Christmas! Dave and I were just so excited for Christmas with Luke this year. Now that he is getting older, I knew he would love opening presents and visiting with all of our family. Our plan for the day was set to be a long one, and we were nervous about how Luke would last. But he did great! We started out early at our house and had a great Christmas with the three of us. We had gotten Luke a train table, which Dave had put together the night before, and were really excited to give it to him. Luke absolutely loved it, and it was hard to take him away from it to even eat! We had smartly given it to him as his last present (we kept it hidden under a sheet until the big reveal), and I’m so glad because I don’t think we would have gotten him to open anything else!

After our morning, we headed over to my parents house for lunch and got to see my parents, my Grandparents, my brother Steve and his girlfriend Beth, my brother Matt and his wife Andrea (who are here from Hawaii), and my brother David. Luke was really starting to get the hang of the present thing by this point, and was really excited about all of his gifts. After that, we headed over to Dave's parents to visit with them and Luke's Uncle John. Luke did get a little nap in there which was great, and of course he got more great presents! Then we headed up to Dave's Aunt Lynn's house for dessert and to see his cousins and relatives. Aunt Lynn had all sorts of toys out for Luke to play with there, and he was just in heaven (which gave Dave and I a chance to play Rock Band!). I was so impressed with Luke. It was a long day, but he did great! He had so much fun playing with everyone and just being with all these people who love him. It was a true testament to how quickly kids learn when he woke up this morning and asked first thing for “More Presents.”

Here are some pictures of our house and our time and my parents. Click on the photo to see the whole slideshow:
