Luke's 3rd Birthday

I can hardly believe it, but my baby turned 3 years old today! Luke just seems so grown up to me all of the sudden. Here he is, a big brother, with a big heart. He jumped into being 3 by suddenly doing tons of imaginative play. He puts on all sorts of performances - such as magic shows, or games where he is the parent and I am the kid. He cracks me up with his ideas. When he does magic, he will say, "I appeared it!" He is still very into cars and trains and books, but now also really likes building toys such as legos or other building materials that he puts together with Dave. He does more physical activity such as climbing slides, pedaling, and swimming too. He also is doing more simple math, and knows all of his letter sounds. It's so amazing to watch all of these developmental milestones and realize that not too long ago, he was Nathan's size. What a big boy!

His birthday party was really fun, and it was so nice to have the family there. Becky, Gordie, and Katie were there, along with my grandparents, Steve, and Beth. Janet, Dee, and Jon were there too. Luke had picked out his own birthday cake which was a Cars movie cake with a black and white checkered flag. That was the most important part. The cake was pretty similar to the one he wanted last year, but he switched it up a bit at the last minute. He was so excited about his birthday, and kept telling anyone in sight that he was 3! He also keeps telling us that Nathan will be able to do things when he is 3 such as eating ice cream, and camping...
